The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) is a national information clearinghouse and resource center for missing, unidentified, and unclaimed persons cases across the United States. Funded and administered by the National Institute of Justice and managed through a contract with RTI International, NamUs helps to bridge information gaps across jurisdictional lines, as well as provide analytical and forensic services to generate new leads. NamUs staff will provide a virtual presentation geared toward law enforcement and criminal justice professionals who are new to the NamUs database. Topics covered include practical guidance on registering as a professional user, creating robust missing person entries, and performing case resolutions in the NamUs database.
