International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) 2022 Binational Meeting: Improving the Systematic Exchange of Fingerprints

NamUs staff were formally invited by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to participate in a binational meeting in Mexico City September 13-14, 2022.  The purpose of the meeting was to discuss how the United States and Mexico should address the missing migrant and unidentified remains crisis across the southern border by enhancing data sharing of biometric data between both nations.  Current processes for how NamUs works with the CBP Missing Migrant Program and the FBI to support this initiative were presented.
