The Florida Institute of Forensic Anthropology and Applied Science (IFAAS) will be hosting their second annual missing persons day event. This event is for families and friends who are searching for their missing loved ones. Law enforcement will be on hand to take reports and collect identifying information. Families of missing persons will have an opportunity to report their family member missing at the event, enter them into national databases, meet with professionals who are dedicated to finding the missing, provide family reference DNA samples, meet other families and counselors who understand grief and trauma, and learn about the resources available to help and connect with others.
NamUs staff will be present to meet with families who have missing loved ones, enter new missing persons cases and update existing cases in NamUs, provide information on NamUs to families and the public, and assist law enforcement with DNA collection.
