The NamUs Regional Program Specialist (RPS) will attend the Missing Person Identification Project in Laveen, AZ on 9/28/23. At the event, the NamUs RPS will meet with families, primarily from the Gila River Indian Community, to enter new missing persons cases into the database, as well as update any existing cases as needed. The RPS will also assist with collection of DNA and other biometric resources and documents that are provided for entry into NamUs. NamUs will be partnering with additional agencies and programs such as the Gila River Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Bureau of Indian Affairs Murdered and Missing Unit, Gila River Prosecutor’s Office, United States Attorney’s Office, Gila River Indian Community Crime Victim Services, and the Gila River Behavioral Health Services, to support the family and loved ones of the missing in the Gila River Indian Community.
